Are We Surprised?

What is it with celebs that think that they can get by with murder? No pun intended... well, maybe a little intended.

The arrest of OJ on felony charges in Las Vegas under the guise that he was retrieving property stolen from him via memorabilia dealers including his Hall of Fame certificate and a photo with former FBI cross dresser, J. Edgar Hoover.(http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_6921679)

So, let's wrap my head around this... someone steals the stuff from memorabilia dealers (is he trying to sell the stuff to settle the civil suit judgement against him?), he breaks into the room of the guys that stole it and allegedly assaults them with a deadly weapon and then robs them at gun point of the stuff they robbed from the dealer?

Sure, he's being held without bond but this is my point... why didn't OJ call the police and have them retrieve the merchandise instead of attempting to handle it himself? Did he take one too many hits back in the day? These damn celebs think they are above the law and unfortunately, that seems to be the case most of the time as illustrated with Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsey Lohan.
